All students receive impartial careers advice and guidance during the first half of the year in small groups.

Students will be able to find out about future opportunities in college, by accessing information in the careers hub room which is under development and by talking with their progress tutor.

Careers Education includes Employer Encounters as part of the curriculum delivery, where students either visit business premises, or join presentations by local employers and providers in college. Each Core Group engages with the planning for Employer Encounters and tutors link core learning to future career options, including signposting for access routes and pathways into employment.

Through Lifeskills learning, students can also find out about future opportunities relating to the Independent Living, Good Health and Friends Relationships and Community pathways.

Camphill Wakefield is creating a careers resource hub room, where students can find information about future career opportunities and options.

As part of annual reviews, students and parents/carers receive guidance to find out about options, including advice on how to access impartial careers advice and guidance, either through liaison with their local authority careers adviser network, or at Camphill Wakefield.

We share information about a range of careers events, with students and parents/carers including: apprenticeship fairs and events; Supported Internship events and other providers’ open days, evenings and events.

We arrange employer encounters with our partner employers and businesses including: in-college presentations and participation visits, external employer visits and employer skills-delivery sessions in college. We are keen to welcome new and additional employers to visit and to take part in our employer encounter programme: access can be requested by following the Provider Access Policy.

Camphill Wakefield and the ACE team continue to build excellent links with a range of local businesses and employers. Students can access employer encounters and experiences relating to their chosen career aspirations, and will be support.

Employers are invited to visit Camphill Wakefield to find out about our students and the learning pathways, and are encouraged to come and speak to the students about their workplace.  Employers who engage with our work experience and work placement programme receive support to set up these experiences, and will be supported throughout all placements.

We welcome external providers to come and present or meet with students in college. For information on how to gain access as a provider, please see the Provider Access Policy.

Our current partner employers can testify to the quality of these experiences, and to the benefits to the businesses from engaging with Camphill Wakefield and our students.
